Giordano Chides Maryland’s Failed Gun Laws & Public Safety Policy As Baltimore City Reaches 300th Homicide For The Year

Salisbury, MD: This is a tragic week here in our state. For the seventh straight year Baltimore City has reached over 300 homicides for the year. The most current victim being a 5-year-old girl. As a mother and a teacher of children, my heart breaks for her friends and family.

Since the Maryland Firearms Safety Act of 2013 went into law, we have seen homicides and violence in our state increase significantly. Maryland’s gun control laws have failed to reduce violence or save lives, and this is tragic.

As your next County Executive, I vow to protect our citizen’s 2nd Amendment rights and work with our public safety partners to enforce the law to ensure we keep our citizens and communities safe here in Wicomico County.
